Filled With Joy

Case This Sketch & MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge
Time Out Challenge

December 10, 2018

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was Filled with Joy!! Things are definitely starting to get busy around here!! Morgan will be home on Thursday and then Meredith comes home the following week...let the Christmas fun begin!!
Today, I have two cards for two different sketch challenges. I used lots of the same supplies so I am combining them into one blog post.

For my first card, I used the MFT Stamps: Filled with Joy die set. I cut the word Joy out and backed it with red polka dot paper from the MFT Stamps: Candy Land Paper Pack. Next, I die cut the snowman and accessories out and placed it in the "o" of the word Joy. I mounted this onto a piece of Blue Raspberry cardstock and backed it with striped paper from the Candy Land pack.  To finish my card, I used the Stampin Up polka dot embossing folder for my card front. I then mounted my card front onto a red A2 card base.

Here is the CASE this Sketch graphic:

For my next card, I used the Fa La La die. I added a piece of Blue Raspberry cardstock behind my die cut panel. Next, I added the rainbow striped paper to my card panel to follow the sketch. I then created the same snowman from the Filled with Joy die set. Lastly, I attached my snowman to my card panel, and attached everything to an A2 card base.

I will also be linking my card up to the Time Out Challenge: Joyful.

Supplies:
Dies: MFT Stamps: Filled With Joy, Fa La La
Paper: MFT Stamps: Candy Land Paper Pack, Cardstock

Color Throwdown Challenge

December 9, 2018

Hello Friends! How are you doing? Are you enjoying the Christmas season? It is definitely a busy time for me and everyone, but I am still trying to take some time to Enjoy the Season. I am also still trying to be creative on a daily basis. So today, I have a card for the Color Throwdown Challenge. I find that these challenges are great for this time of year...I might need an idea or a place to start and they do the trick!

For my card today, I used the W Plus 9 stamp sets: Be Merry and Be Merry Florals. I kept my card very clean and simple. I just did a lot of stamping around my sentiment using the colors from the challenge.

I think I made a very similar card last year...so if you saw it on Instagram sorry about that. I liked the design and it is the perfect card for mailing! Sometimes it is fun to just stamp and not use any dies.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: W Plus 9- Be Merry and Be Merry Florals
Ink: Papertrey Ink

Have a Wonderful Sunday,

Papertrey Ink

Merry & Bright

December 7, 2018

Today, I have a card for the Papertrey Ink: Make it Monday challenge. This week, Melissa Phillips showed us how to "Deck Your Dies." Melissa is the "queen of layers" and every little detail is just perfect on her cards. Her cards are truly a work of art. I tried to incorporate a few of her ideas into my card design...

I started out by using the Papertrey Ink: Winter Window stamp and die set. I began by die cutting the window frame in Soft Stone polka dot patterned paper. Next, I ink blended some distress ink onto the window panel for my background. Then, I die cut and stamped all of my images. Once I had my tree stamped, I added some white embossing powder for the snow. For my sentiment, I used the Papertrey Ink: Jingle All The Way stamp and die set. I die cut the word Merry from Pure Poppy patterned paper and then stamped the rest of the sentiment (& bright) onto my card front.

Originally, I had stenciled some snowflakes onto my card front...it was too busy in my opinion. How does Melissa do it? Anyways, I ended up keeping my card front a little simpler and just added a Simply Chartreuse and Pure Poppy border to the left side of my card.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Papertrey Ink- Winter Window, Jingle All the Way
Dies: PTI- Winter Window, Jingle All the Way
Paper: PTI

Happy Friday,

Be Merry!

PinkFresh Studio: December Days

December 5, 2018

Good Morning!! Today, I have two cards to share with you! I couldn't decide on which colors I wanted to use so I made one in more traditional Christmas colors and one in pastel Christmas colors...which do you prefer?

I used the The Card Concept and Case This Sketch Challenge for my inspiration. Here are the photos:

I began my cards by using the PinkFresh Studio stamp set December Days. This is a darling stamp set with really sweet images. I stamped and colored my images with Copic markers. Once they were colored I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

On my more traditional card, I used some red and white striped paper from Papertrey Ink to give the appearance of the chevron stripes that were used in the Case This Sketch image. Next, I mounted my focal panel onto a piece of white cardstock that had been embossed with a polka dot embossing folder from Stampin Up. I then added a black mat to my card front before attaching it to my card base.

My pastel card followed the same layout as above...just used softer colors. I added a few sequins to both cards for some added detail. I hope you enjoyed my cards today! Do you prefer the traditional colors or the pastels? I definitely tend to use both.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: PinkFresh Studio- December Days
Dies: PinkFresh Studio- December Days
Paper: Papertrey Ink
Other: Stampin Up- Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions

MFT Stamps

December 3, 2018

Hello and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a Wonderful weekend. Today, I am spending the day with my mom, her best friend and her daughter. We have an annual tradition of going out of town to do a little Christmas shopping! It is a fun day that we all look forward to every year. Wish me luck...I hope I can finish my shopping!!

Today, I have a card for the MFT Stamps Color and Sketch Challenge. I combined the two challenges and made one card, I hope that is okay...

For my card, I started with the MFT Stamps: Tweet Holidays stamp set. I stamped and colored my images with Copic markers in the colors for the color challenge. Once everything was colored I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Next, I used the sketch challenge to help me layout my card design.
Once I had my card front assembled I mounted it onto a piece of Jellybean Green cardstock. Then, I attached that to my A2 Kraft card base.

CAS on Sunday

MFT Stamps

December 2, 2018

Today, I have a card (actually two cards) for the new to me CAS on Sunday challenge. I have been following their blog for awhile now and I finally decided to play along. This challenge was all about making a Christmas card in the CAS style.

For my cards, I used the Free with $60. die from MFT Stamps Blog. MFT Stamps is always so generous with their free gifts with purchase and this die is definitely a favorite of mine!! Here is what the die looks like:

To begin my cards, I cut a piece of paper to 2in x 4 in in size. I then cut thin strips of paper in a rainbow of colors and attached them to my small rectangle. Here is a photo of the process:

For my card front, I used the MFT Stamps: Wonky Stitched Rectangle die to cut out my panel. Then, I took my Christmas tree and die cut it out of the top center of my panel. Once I had my die cutting complete I used the MFT Stamps: Joyous Christmas stamp set for my sentiments. Next, I attached my rainbow panel behind my card front (die cut Christmas tree). I love the rainbow colors peeking through!!

I made one card with regular cardstock. Then, I went ahead and made a second card with glitter cardstock following the same steps.

Which do you prefer? I am loving the glitter...it was hard to photograph on this rainy day but it really does sparkle!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: MFT Stamps- Joyous Christmas
Dies: MFT Stamps- Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX, Free with $60. Christmas tree die
Paper: MFT Stamps- Cardstock and Color Celebration Glitter Cardstock

Enjoy your day,
Dana

Woodland Critters

Lawn Fawn: Shaped Card Challenge

December 1, 2018

Happy December!! Are you getting ready for Christmas and the Holiday Season? Our house is decorated, a few presents are bought, and I am making my lists of what needs to get done. Today, is also the start of Advent and I am excited to start the She Reads Truth: Advent Study Book. Are you familiar with their Bible study books? They are beautiful- scriptures, photography, and font...definitely worth looking into if that is something you would enjoy. Here is a photo of the Advent book for this year:

Okay...now onto the reason most of you are here! Today, I have two cute little Woodland Critters for the Lawn Fawnatics: Shaped Card Challenge.

Aren't they the cutest? They were so fun to make and Lawn Fawn included so many dies and details that they went together really easy.

For my reindeer, I used the basic critter shape and added all the details to make him a reindeer. Then to make him "Christmassy" I used the Winter Add-On accessories to give him a scarf, mittens and of course hot chocolate!!

Isn't it fun how you can change just a few things and get a whole new critter? This time I created a penguin! I gave him a Santa hat, scarf, some mittens and a glittered candy cane. So fun and festive!!

On the back, I used the Stitched Gift Card Pocket so I can include a gift card. They really did think of everything!! I also think these would make really cute tags to tie onto a gift.

Supplies:
Dies: Lawn Fawn- Woodland Critters Huggers, Woodland Critters Huggers Winter Add-On, Stitched Gift Card Pocket
Paper: Papertrey Ink- Cardstock

Enjoy your weekend my friends,
Dana
